If home is a pile of your troubles, nagging, demanding, cluttered, disorganized, and fustraiting....he's going to stay at the office.

Hope this isn't the case, but thats why so many of my friends work long into the evenings.

I've been called a lot of things , but never a workaholic .  I work to make money , it's not what my real life is about ... I'd rather be home anytime spending time with my wife and child.

I know for my dad and boyfriend, their mindset is, "I have to be the provider," so they both may choose to work longer hours or work harder to be better providers. Also, my dad got it from his dad (who still enjoys a good day of work otherwise he just feels useless in his old age), and from the lifestyle they grew up in (in the country in Cambodia, and during the Khmer Rouge).

Strange, I thought we were always accused of being lazy....

maybe because we feel the need to provide a home and shelter and food to our loved ones.  and we all have loved ones.  maybe so we can show off all the cool stuff when we make how much money from working so hard... maybe to fight a stereotype that guys are stupid and lazy

Trust me. WE aren't. This sounds like you date only workaholics, and now your mad for it. I could ask, why do women only like guys with money? Well what happens, is they find guys who have all this nice stuff, but find out they have to WORK to get it. There are more lazy guys out there than men who work nonstop...just look around.
