Men visual, women not?

Question

This shows that studies have explored that women are just as visual as men. I definitely believe it as do my friends. I think it is a cultural thing that peopel say women arent visual. Men get turned on by other things that arent visual too as the same way as women as there wouldnt be as many s*x lines if that wasnt true.

i know in my experience me and all my friends are extremely visual. what do you think?

I agree. I'm a very visual person. I'm the type of woman that likes to watch p**n during foreplay while my husband is more into dirty talk or just plain "heavy petting" LOL. I've never understood the theory that men are more visual. I think men in general are more emotional than they let on.

EDIT: I would probably throw up if I watch g*y p**n. There is nothing attractive to me, as a straight woman, watching 2 men having s*x. I watch straight p**n, not for the men, but because I like to see a man and a woman having s*x. It doesn't matter what the guy looks like....or the woman for that matter. PS - I'm the same as you, the nastier the better. Is there even a point to softcore p**n???

I think that its bullshit stereotypes that people have been pushed into. Women aren't meant to be visual. So most take that and believe it. Just as a lot of men only get into p**n because that is what other guys do... just because they are guys.

Men have ugly sexual parts and men don't like seeing g*y p**n.  They are ashamed of their own bodies.  Women, however, are beautiful and have a normal s*x drive.

Women are just as visual, its just that there is more to do with the eyes then look at p**n. If you have your home decorated or get something new, women always notice it before men do. In hunter gather times women did most of the gathering, so would of had to be visual to have a keen eye for colours of fruits, and remembering locations. The issue with p**n is that most of it is aimed at men, and shows plastic women faking orgasms. Maybe most women do not need all this visual stuff to get turned on. I know i would rather use my visual cortex for other things.

Nope, I disagree. Women are less visual than men, and when they're visual, it's more complex than men. When a woman sees a perfect body, she's nowhere near as likely to be utterly taken in by it. She'll notice it as quickly as a man would a perfect female, but her processing of it remains much more analytical, unless he has the whole package, which is rare. Women remain aware that an attractive man might be broke, lack confidence, or be crazy, much more than men do when they see an attractive woman. When a woman is visual, it's much more complex and involved. A man who is less attractive in a photograph can be seen by women as extremely attractive in person, because they can see how he carries himself (and vice versa). A woman, on the other hand, can carry herself in a very unattractive way, but if she's physically hot, she'll get a lot of attention.

Watching p**n is not the same as watching p**n. Get my drift. Female p**n is not the same as male p**n. I can guarantee you that. In regards to women being as sexually stimulated visually as men, yes, their are some women who fall into this category. However, to claim that woman are equal to men is just nonsensical. You know, they say a sucker is born every day. Women today have been re-programed to believe any statement with the word equality in it. I can't help but feel a little sorry for young women today and their foolish beliefs. I'm confident that as all these young women mature in life, they will look back on this belief with amazement.

I have no doubts about your taste in pornograph. You would have to agree with me though that you fall into a small category of women who desire that type of pornography. How many women really like to a watch another woman have s*x with 5 guys in every hole she has and then finsh by excepting part of their maleness on her face.

In reagrds to the unfit men in p**n. It is suppose to appeal to the average male. It says "Hey", look at that overweight average guy, he is having s*x with all those beautiful women and they love him for it. So he thinks, there's hope for me yet. It's business 101. Focus on your target market and appeal to your largest viewing audience.

Well of course women are just as visual as men. Men and women are human beings with eyes that respond to visually appealing things, which stimulates the brain. It's amazing that anyone would even have to look it up on a website to know that.

Society has so many pop cultural beliefs that are absolutely stupid, but people amazingly believe them without question,  and then throws what actually happens in reality, in the garbage.

EDIT: And where did you hear that women don't watch p**n because men are ugly? That just doesn't make sense. Women always say how much g*y men are sooo attractive, there is tons of g*y/bi p**n out there, but it's hard for you to find attractive men in p**n? Unless your talking about strictly hetero p**n, but in hetero p**n, usually they don't even show the man, it's all about the woman.

Yes, I can be quite 'visual' in that sense, but I prefer images that leave something to the imagination. And the actors/actresses in most hetero p**n turn me off.

If women are as visual, then why don't women look at pictures or images of fit, good looking naked men or fit, good looking, shirtless men? Men are the main consumers of buying magazines of T and A and such. Why does woman get more attracted and lust for a man for what he says and than how he looks, if women are so visual? That poll site could have men answering as women too or g*y men you know, especially considering the internet. Well trust me, I wish women like you were a majority and not a minority, but from what I have heard and everything it seems to indicate that women aren't that visual, but much more emotional, unless women are very discreet about these feelings. This is one instance I wish to be proven wrong, lol.

I don't think anyone ever said that women don't get excited by visual stimulation.  I certainly do.  But it's more mental stimulation that gets me going than anything else whether by reading erotica, or fantasizing, or simply by knowing my lover's about to show up at my house.  Men get excited by the same things that women do.  It's just that the visual stimulation gets to them more than the other forms.
