  1. Talking to your coach would probably be a good place to start.  He'll probably be honest with you about your chances of being recruited.  Also talking with other league/club official might make sense since they have contacts.  And finally you'll need approach the colleges yourself likely.

I'm guessing if you had potential as a D1 player you would be contacted already.  Those guys are amazing.  I don't think D2 exists and I've never seen D3 play, but there's only a handful of colleges.  I saw NAIA play and they are also amazing, but a step down from D1.  Finally there are 100's of college club teams that range anywhere from approaching D1 (UofAZ for example) to absolutely terrible.

I played on a decent college club team that took HS athletes (football/basketball players) and taught them how to play volleyball.  But there was definitely no HS recruiting going on.

  2. Straight forward, there are no standards.  Especially in Men's Volleyball.  With the limit of teams at the collegiate level it's hard enough to make a team.  The best thing you can do is make sure that you get noticed.  If you're really interested in playing in college you need to get your name out there because there aren't a lot of schools that have men's volleyball, so the chances of getting recruited on your own are slim.  Create a profile, contact coaches, let them know you're interested.  The more you show a coach that you WANT to play, the more they'll want you to play for them.

If there's more recruiting help that i can give let me know
