  1. Your son is in what is referred to as the Egocentric State of development. In the Egocentric State children take everything personally because they cannot objectify their experiences. There is a great program for the mental side of basketball that goes into this in more detail. It is called Mind Mastery For Basketball and it is available at amazon.com. There is also a good book titled Mastering The Mental Side Of Basketball also available at amazon.com.
