Mental health queery??

hi guys i was just wondering, if some one has ocd and was prescribed zanex to alleviate the anxiety or whatever could they be prone to this: feeling like a failure due to circumstances in his/her life and apparently haing "highs" one day and serious "lows" the next?, also becoming far more distant with supposed loved ones and becoming extremly selfish and introverted?... what are these all signs of?... please help as i desperatly need to understand as my boyfriend/ex has all these, i dont know what to do... thank you!

  1. sure they can.  the more that OCD disrupts your life, the more of a failure you may feel.  the more that OCD is occupying your thoughts, the less that the people around you may be occupying them, and so you feel detached from them.  and all these things can make you depressed too


  2. If he changed at all after being prescribed the Xanex, it may have something to do with that, too.  It has been known to cause depression in a lot of people, as well as mood swings.  Maybe if you can catch him in a good mood, you can gently mention to him what you've noticed, and suggest asking his doc about it.
