Are we prisoners, to work? to Y!A? to addiction? to peer pressure? to government taxes? to ignorance?

Why do people feel sorry for others? Aren`t we all prisoners of some sort?

What are you a prisoner too?

I am a prisoner to my mind.

I'm locked in my thoughts,

and in my writes.

I can`t move until my notebook's satisfied.

(Well just today)

  1. Of course we are, most everyone who has any responsibilities is a prisoner to something.  From the beginning of time man has always been a prisoner to society whether it was for safety in numbers or whatever the reason is men decided they needed a "society"  the more technologically advanced the society gets I've noticed the more a man can become a prisoner, credit cards, addictions, a persons "wants".  The single thing though that makes us a prisoner more than anything else is "money"  even if your rich your a prisoner to it's limits and powers.  The truly free? who are the truly free?  I guess I'm reminded of a song by Janis Joplin called me and bobby mcghee.  One of the lines in it goes  "freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose"  So I guess those are the truly free people of the world.  So do you really truly want to be free anyways?  I guess the key is to have just enough to where every aspect of your life isn't in prison.  Though if you want to go deeper than that you can only be a prisoner as much as your mind allows you to be.  Socrates was probably the most free man in the  history of the world because of his mind.

  2. We are prisoners because we are suppose to be perfectly beautiful.

We are prisoners because we are suppose to be get married and stay happily married with 2 perfect children.

We are prisoners because we have to attend the best college and get a job, despite hating it, that pays the maximum salary possible.

We are prisoners because we are suppose to only have intimate relations with the opposite gender.

We are prisoners if we are black, Latino, Asian, or female living in America because we are labeled "Minorities".

We are prisoners because we have to wear uniforms in schools and workplaces which strip us completely of our individuality.

We are prisoners to big pharma, because any disease known to man can be "alleviated" (for a price) with a pill.

We are prisoners because we get locked up for smoking marijuana to alleviate our pain, but can smoke cigars all we want, die of cancer and kill 1 in 5 people around us as well.

We are prisoners to useless holidays that require us to spend thousands of dollars every year to really keep big corp afloat.

We are prisoners to Uncle Sam, because he is a prisoner to the 10 fat cats who own the privatized national treasury.

We are prisoners if we believe in God

We are prisoners if we don't believe in God...

    Shall I go on?

  3. poetry everywhere :)

im a prisoner of this couple, may fears and desires, at last im not perfect,,

  4. I think self imposed imprisonment is perpetuated with far worse results than the more obvious incarcerations we vilify.

Prejudices lock our minds out to decency.

Intolerance prevents acceptance and the possibility of learning from others.

Slanted patriotism blinds us to potential solutions for society as a whole.

But, I'm not sure I get the question.....Peace,R

  5. you are all prisioners, or like i would rather believe slaves to my freedom,

  6. Yep, know exactly how you feel.

  8. I'm a prisoner to my insecurities. I'm a worry-wart! : )

  9. You can't call anything prison unless it's not physically possible for you to exit.

Furthermore, even though we may acknowledge that exiting is possible, many times we conclude that existence cannot be better outside the walls - even though we've never actually proved it to be true.

Pick anything you label as "prison" then decide to intentionally exit for no other reason than to obtain hard proof one way or the other.
