  1. Good question. But I am not sure what the answer is yet. There is one place to write to perhaps for more information. It's the Evergreen State College's Public Affairs in Tribal Governance program. Check out Evergreen State's  website at www.evergreen.edu. They may have other leads.

few Indian citizens' disapproval, the vote of disapproval is consigned to the garbage dump. The power of recall has not yet been given to the citizens.

  4. There are many conventional  methods to approve or disapprove govt action in India but not all citizens are aware and have access to them.Today media  print ,tv, telephone is playing vital role by way of opinion poll through sms on actions and decisions of govt very qcickly and accurately .This the best way to communicate and to keep govt on toes from your home with your finger tips.

  5. In a democracy the disapproval is shown by rallies, protest marches, letters to the member of parliament, letters to the editor etc etc.The most potent weapon is of course the vote, when election time  comes around.

As far as approval is concerned, it is far less strident, and many a time goes unnoticed.
