Menu buttons in flash actionscript help

Question

I made a navigation menu in cs3 and now i want to be able to click on a button and have the background color of the button stay how it is onmouseover. It goes from white to gray onmouseover but after I click it and move the mouse away it goes back to white. I know there are a few ways to do this but I am not so good with flash. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am not sure what you mean but you can try this:

on the     "onmouseover" frame,    open up the actions windows (shortcut = f9)   and write stop();
