  1. Okay so pretty much to sum up what everyone else said...

    Not enough warm dishes.

Too much meat, try a cucumber sandwich or hummus with pita is an excellent choice.

    Meatballs are yummy.

Wing dings are probably too messy, unless they are tradition for you or have a special meaning.

Try adding a vinigarette and maybe thousand island to your list of dressings.

And since it's at 8, people should have already eaten so don't worry about people leaving early to eat. If they're still hungry, this will tie them over. Maybe add ice cream to go with the cookies/brownies/cake? Just a vanilla should do fine.

That sounds great though! Plenty for 250 guests. It's not like you're feeding them a meal. ;-)

  2. There aren't really enough warm things. Those are all cold items. Wing dings would be so messy. I don't think that's a good idea at all. What about cocktail meatballs, skewered chicken and puff pastries. I had 2 trays of food for 15 people at my house once and ran out. I don't know how it will ever be enough for 250! QVC has a section with appetizers that you can order. Check it out!

  3. 3 fruit trays

    3 veggie trays

    3 cheese/cracker trays

this does not seem like enough food for 250 people.

People are going to be drinking, you need to feed them enough.

Variety is enough but tacky, you are going to run out of food and have a lot of angry guest leaving your wedding early to go eat.

  4. it all sounds great but i think you will need some more food i dont think 3 fruit 3 veggie 3 crackers are enough i would make it like 6... good luck and congrats:)

  5. I agree that the wings and deli meats might be too casual for an evening reception. Instead I would try to add a meatball option, or maybe some kind of small meat kabob (like a chicken kabob with pineapple and honey bbq sauce). Or you could try to add more stuffed pasteries like spinach and cheese pinwheels. How about stuffed mushrooms or stuffed cherry tomatoes? I would also think about some kind of salmon pate with crackers. Most of these ideas you can acheive yourself will little baking/effort. 6. Yea, to me that seems like a great variety!

p.s. I shouldn't have read this question while hungry... now my stomach is making noises at me...lol

  7. Provided you don't have any dietary restrictions this should be good variety. Things to keep in mind - vegans will be hungry, and vegetarians will not have a lot of options.

To evaluate quantities: do people know there will not be a full meal? If not then bump up the amount. Same goes if they don't really have a chance to grab a bite before this.

  8. i think that you have chosen a wonderful selection. it covers all the different types of diets that could have thrown anyone off and made the planning hectic!

being that you are planning for an 8 pm reception, make sure that you let your guests know that this will not be a "sit down" dinner and every thing will be all set!

  9. Excellent assortment.....if anything, you went over board....be proud!!

    Congrats!!!! HUGS!!

  10. how about some different sandwiches?  cucumber or hummus spreads are really good.  otherwise i guess it's ok.

  11. This menu is most suitable for a very casual afternoon affair.  If you are having an 8pm reception, you definitely need to stay away from deli meat.  There are plenty of options that you can do even on a budget.  Shrimp cocktail and deviled eggs are good, maybe a meatball dish?  Skip the wing dings...too messy for a wedding.  I am guessing you are taking care of the food yourself.  You need more substantial appetizers than what you are proposing
