Merc 115 outboard hit a rock d**e and broke off lowerunit and top half?

help broke off lowerunit and cracked upperhalf, need info on how to take off, took off bolts to powerhead but not sure what to do after that, i have replaced many lower units but this is the first time ever working with a outboard any help would be great, even a web site for breakdown, thanks

Best to find a donor engine with a blower power head>Look at the pan under the power head see whats holds it on drop it then the bolts are exposed>Look on mercury parts on/line and it will show a parts break down that will show you the best pictures>

sounds like you've broken the exhaust housing.  you need to get a service manual if that's the case.  not a mission impossible, but pretty complicated procedure.  good luck.
