Mercedes, here I come with my golf club!
Is anyone interested in getting a brand new Mercedes Benz SLK for a mere shot?
Parthiv Mehta, a businessman from Gujarat, India won a sparkling new Mercedes Benz SLK on Monday in a Mercedes Trophy Invitational Golf Tournament held at Kensville Golf and Country Club, 40 kilometres away from Ahmadabad India.
The event was organised by Mercedes Benz for the promotion of the model, which was recently launched in the area. Open invitations were given to the public, but public here meant elites only.
The prize money of the event was 7.5 million worth Mercedes Benz SLK, which was to be given to the contender, who would deliver hole-in-one in the 18-hole session. Hole-in-one is a shot in golf, in which the golfer has to hole the pin in one stroke. It is
a rare shot and requires lots of experience.
Mr Mehta fired a spectacular 140-yard shot on a par-3 hole and the ball directly hit the flag. The person himself was surprised at his achievement. He said, “When such a prize is on offer that thought always remains at the back of the mind. But when it finally
happened, I just couldn’t believe it. I came here to play, not to win... it came just like that.”
55 contestants took part in the event according to the local newspaper and all of them were hefty executives and doctors.
A press release wrote, “A combo of millionaires was seen on the tees of Kensville Golf and Country Club, where Mercedes used a public gathering as a promotional tool for their thick money coated Mercedes Benz SLK.  The car is worth 75 lakh and who does not
want a car like that to show-off the kind of money they have.”
The tournament based on 18-hole layup was organised and sponsored by the great automobile manufacturer, Mercedes Benz.
The morale of the story leads to a notion that only elites play golf and the skills learned with the help of money helps in earning more hard cash. From now on children should ask their parents for a pair of clubs. After all, it is the easiest way to win
a Mercedes.
