Mercedes 2003 c 240 diagnostic code PO432 main catalyst?

my car has 82866 miles and it did not pass inspection , stated i need a catalytic converter, short of going to the dealer to get it fixed, i went to meineke they couldn't do it , recommended a induction service , do you think it will work or do you have any other suggestion or know where i can purchase an replacement catalytic converter also what do you think i should pay to get it fixed.

If you have a fault code for a catalyst the fuel induction service won't help. It might be a good idea for preventive maintenance but it won't help you pass the inspection.

Take it to the dealer for the catalyst issue, it should be covered under warranty. They can also do a "short test" to check all of the electronic systems on the vehicle,,,,,,,,,some aftermarket diagnostic equipment will mis-read fault codes.

That's still under warranty.  The emissions systems are warranted by law for 100k miles.  Just take it to a dealer for a free fix.

Gonna have to bite the bullet on this one...if you replace the cat. with aftermarket it will not have to capacity to satisfy the emission control system in the powertrain management ...looks like I would take it to Benz and see if they might "good will " the repair ..it seems to be  a common problem...
