  1. This car is called a Model 123, an extremely popular car. I have 2 of them and lots of experience with them. When I got my first one I went to the Mercedes Benz USA Publishing Department and bought the 2 Volume Service manuals that were printed in 1982.

When I added a 1985 300 TD Turbo to my fleet, I again contacted MB USA and this time they sold me a CD with service manuals for all Model 123 cars, including yours.

The material on the CD is in PDF format but the quality of pages is not particularly pleasing, especially of you want info from an electric circuit diagram.

Still, my suggestion is to contact MB USA.

It probably won't be cheap. I payed $75.00 back then.

In the meantime I bought a 2001 MB E 320. I immediately bought the CD, which cost $200.00, but this is for a much more sophisticated car, and the material presentation is excellent.

  2. go to www.startekinfo.com, they have a microfiche section which has all the old repair manuals for download in pdf format. though it is a little hard to navigate. You pay 18 bucks for 24 hours use, the pdf files are huge but you'll be able to download all you want in those 24 hours.

  3. You could try the Haynes manual for W123 diesels.

It's called the Mercedes-Benz Diesel 123 series and includes the turbodiesels as well. You should be able to get a used book for a couple of dollars from amazon for instance. (I bought mine for $10,-).
