Mercedes GP Chiefs dismiss all rumours of team breaking
The management of Mercedes GP has talked to the media knocking down all speculations regarding the heated air amidst the team management.
While talking to Autosport.com on Tuesday, the Mercedes GP chiefs told the reporters that there are no disputes among the management of the team and all such talks are plain rumors.
The media reported on Monday that the higher team management has a lot of disputes among them due to which the performance as well as the future goals of the team are suffering badly.
Mercedes GP had a brilliant 2009 season when it was able to claim both the Drivers’ as well as Constructors’ Championships, under the team name, Brawn GP, headed by Ross Brawn. However, the team is having
a very tough 2010 season right from the start as they strived hard all through the season in order to grab every single point. The team has faced a very tough season owing to a not very competitive car as well as its driver, Michael Schumacher. The seven times
world champion was not able to perform well all through the season contrary to the great hype that was created for him at the start of the season.
Soon after the Singapore Grand Prix stories regarding Brawn and Norbert Haug, the motorsport boss of Mercedes-Benz caught fire suggesting that the two were having a lot of conflicts as they plan the future
direction of the team.
Nico Rosberg’s statement further worked as oil on fire when he talked to the media saying that the team needs to make ‘changes’ in order to recover its lost ground.
Seeing the fast spreading rumour the team principal Ross Brawn came forward to deny all such rumors telling that the team stands close together and they believe in sticking as one and working in the same
direction to take the team back to the lost horizons.
While talking to AUTOSPORT.com he explained the situation saying, "So I have a philosophy and culture within the company of encouraging everyone, helping them understand where we are not strong enough, helping
them understand where we are not strong enough and understand where we have to be better.”
He insisted that they are heading together towards the right direction and he sees the next year much better than the current one.
At the same time Haug also echoed Brawn's statement saying that Mercedes-Benz has stayed together at tough times when other team like BMW and Toyota turned their backs on the sport.
He believes that they are adamant on staying together and working closely to repeat their past successes which he believes is not a far off dream.
