Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg says future plans not a concern for him at the moment – Formula 1
Formula 1 Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg has insisted that the talk about his career future plans is not the main topic for him right now as he is busy and focused on helping to push his current team to the front of the grid in the 2011 season.
In past, the German had possible positions at both Ferrari and Red Bull Racing team. Presently, he is performing very strongly on the grid with the Mercedes team and wishes to be a part of the team in the future as well.
The 25-year-old driver has completed his second fastest run ahead of his teammate Michael Schumacher. Therefore, it is the best time for Rosberg to make more improvements in his performance.
After the Chinese Grand Prix, he is aiming for a podium position in the 2011 Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul. However, he is enjoying this moment as he feels that he is moving towards his 2011 season’s success.
Rosberg added, “It is great with Ross [Brawn] and all the people who are here. It is a great situation to work very hard with the challenge of improving as a team to move forward. And hopefully get some even better results soon.”
The team started their free practice one session on wet tyres, as there was light rain in the morning.
Rosberg added, “There is a lot possible here with the tyre degradation, with the strategy, and it can have a big influence on the race. Strategy wise, we are definitely set up very, very well with Ross Brawn and James Vowles and Andrew Shovlin doing the
work. They are fantastic in that area so that will be one of our strengths.”
After a successful free practice session one, the team is looking forward to another strong performance in the second free practice session which will take place later on Friday.
