Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg says he wants to win for the team – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg has recently said that he wants to win races for his team in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Rosberg added that he was fully committed to his team to push them at the front row in the last couple of races. However, his car was not perfect and due to that, he could not do that.
The German seemed to be struggling for his race victory from the last three races, but due to the lack of his MGP-W02 car’s pace, he has failed to deliver a strong performance on the grid.
The Petronas-sponsored team boss Ross Brawn added about Rosberg’s performance in the season that he can win for the team, if they provide him with a perfect and faster car.
Rosberg talked to the media and said that he is happy and comfortable with his current team and that he wants to win for them in the remaining season.
He mentioned, “Additionally I feel very comfortable in the team because there is a great bunch of people, so all in all it is a nice situation to be in, to be part of this project and part of this challenge. But of course, I am a racing driver - and above
all I would like to win races.”
Rosberg further added that he has a good opportunity to achieve his goal in upcoming races, as he said he is in a pretty strong position at the moment.
The 26-year-old driver went on to add, “It is a fact that the team will have success, and everyone will agree on that. There is no reason why it won't. But the big question mark is, when? Currently it looks like it is still going to take time, for sure.
But Mercedes is very committed.”
He praised the team’s work, which they have done until now. He admitted that his team really worked hard during the races so far and still they are busy working on their car, making it perfect for their better results in the upcoming race weekends.
Mercedes are looking forward to bring some new parts in the upcoming British Grand Prix that is scheduled to take place on July 10, 2011 at the Silverstone race track.
