Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg still hoping for the best from the team – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg has recently stated that he is still hoping for the best possible results from his team despite the fact that they had an extremely disappointing first half of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The team was expected to be one of the top running teams of the sport but unfortunately for them, Red Bull Racing, McLaren and Ferrari were a bit too fast for them this year as a result of which their pace is not up to the mark.
“We naturally want to improve and get closer to the top. At the factory in Brackley you can already see tremendous progress and this is carrying over slowly but surely to the car. I'm very confident that success is a matter of time away - I'm sure it will
come,” Rosberg told the media.
The team went through an amazing pre-season testing period as both Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg scored some amazing results ahead of the top running teams of the sport. After the beginning of the season, the entire pace went to waste and since the
team’s debut in 2010, they have not been able to secure a single podium position up until now.
With the team improving this year and finding its weak points, they are confident that they can improve and perform at their best in the coming years and hopefully become a championship winning team.
Either way, the team is still optimistic and since they have people like Michael Schumacher and team principal Ross Brawn by their side, it seems that they can definitely improve and these performances are nowhere near their best.
It is believed that the team will keep both of its drivers for another season in the sport and for Schumacher, it seems that 2012 will be his last chance to prove that he is still the best in the sport.
Brawn claims that the team has already shifted its focus to the 2012 Formula 1 season but Rosberg still believes that the team has the capability to fight up in front “when the time comes.”
