Mercedes GP duo Schumacher, Rosberg satisfied with German Grand Prix results – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP team drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg have said that they are satisfied with their results in the 2011 Formula 1 German Grand Prix following a disappointing last few races in the season.
Rosberg and Schumacher finished their runs at the seventh and eighth places respectively at the Nurburgring circuit. After the race, both of the drivers added that they can hope for a better upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place
on July 31, 2011.
Schumacher was moving in the right direction when he started his race in Nürburgring. During the 23rd lap of the race, his MGP-W02 car spun rapidly at turn 10 of the German racetrack. As a result, he lost almost 15 seconds and had to lose some
positions.
Talking to reporters, the seven-time world champion said, “My spin caught me by complete surprise, but that spot is known to be tricky in wet conditions, even if the conditions were not so wet today. Towards the end, rain could have helped but the chances
were low so I did not count on it.”
On the other hand, his teammate Rosberg stated that he did not enjoy the race too much as compared to the qualifying round in Nürburgring.
The German mentioned, “Seventh place is OK but we know that we have some work to do to maximise our latest upgrades in the race. I have a great team behind me, both the engineers and the boys in the garage, so I am confident that we will do this and we will
see what happens next week in Hungary.”
The 26-year-old driver further said that he had a good qualifying round at the German racetrack, as the car was quite supportive for him during that. Rosberg had a fight with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa for a few laps, but finally the Brazilian overtook Rosberg
and finished his race at the fifth place for his team.
After getting satisfactory results from the German Grand Prix, Mercedes GP are hoping for further improvements in terms of performance in the upcoming Hungarian race weekend. Let’s see how both of the drivers manage their race over there.
