Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton feels excited for the season ahead – Formula 1 News
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is feeling really excited for the season ahead and is working very hard to attain good results in all the races.
Hamilton performed incredibly well in the qualifying of the British Grand Prix and successfully managed to secure his second pole position of the season. He took
a very good start in the race and seemed really strong behind the wheel of his car. However, he could only secure 4th place finish as his left rear tyre exploded during the race due to which he lost some crucial time.
Although, he was quite annoyed at the unpleasant incident and even criticised Pirelli by calling the situation unacceptable, he is now feeling relaxed and has even
backed the Italian tyre company which has made the rear tyre stronger for the German GP.
In addition, he has said that he has not been able to extract full potential from his car in the season so far. Therefore, he insisted that he is targeting to overcome
the problems and is very much looking forward to attain competitive results with consistency in the season ahead.
“I don't know if I'm going to get that for a while,” Hamilton said. “I really don't know. It was a nice lap, but I've not been feeling 100% in this car for some
reason. It's the first year in my life that I've not felt 100% in a car, but considering the results that I've had so far with that feeling I'm excited for the rest of the year.”
“I'm working very hard to overcome it and to extract the most from the car, so when I do I'm looking forward to seeing the results,” he added.
The British driver has performed remarkably well in the season so far and has impressed everyone with his consistency. Currently, he is standing at fourth place
in the drivers’ championship with 89 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing and behind his major rival, Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
It will be interesting to see how he shows up in the forthcoming race at Nurburgring.
