Mercedes drivers Schumacher, Rosberg looking forward to upcoming German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg have said that they are very excited for the upcoming German Grand Prix and looking forward to a successful race weekend at their home track.
Both the drivers also mentioned that they will try their best to perform well for their home crowd.
Schumacher stated that he is very excited and confident for the German Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion believes he can perform better in Nurburgring.
Apart from that, he added that the 2011 Formula 1 season has been tough for him so far in terms of his performance. He has been unable to finish his race on the podium in the ongoing season.
The 42-year-old driver discussed the next race weekend and said, “I can predict one thing for sure: the extra boost we are receiving will be transformed into extra motivation. It will be the first time that I race through the corner which is named after
me (Turns 8 and 9), and obviously I would like to believe that this is not only making me proud, but also even faster.”
He also discussed the recently held Silverstone race weekend and added that he had a good experience with the new Pirelli tyres. In addition, he said that the new exhaust system gave them positive results at the Silverstone race circuit.
On the other hand, his teammate Rosberg talked to media and stated that he is looking forward to a successful race weekend in Germany following his positive British Grand Prix recently.
The 26-year-old driver said, “I hope that we can take another step forward with our new package and close the gap to the top a little. It will be exciting to drive in front of a big German crowd in the Mercedes-Benz grandstand. Hopefully they see a good
performance from both me and our car.”
The Petronas-sponsored team drivers are hopeful for a good performance from their MGP-W02 cars at the German Grand Prix, which will begin from Friday, July 22, 2011 in Nurburgring.
Let’s see how both the drivers perform at their home track.
