Mercedes pass mandatory FIA crash tests – Formula 1 news
Mercedes have passed the mandatory FIA crash tests for the 2013 Formula 1 season, according to Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport.
The Silver Arrows had quite an impressive pre-season testing programme this year. Conversely, they failed to make the essential developments in their car during the season due to which their drivers, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher could not attain good
results.
Even though, Rosberg stood amongst one of the most consistent point scorers during the start of the season and took his maiden victory in the Chinese Grand Prix after securing his first ever pole position. However, he couldn’t score points with consistency
as he faced some technical issues in his car.
On the other hand, his compatriot, Schumacher also struggled with immense problems which hindered his performance throughout the year. Although, he performed incredibly well in the European GP and managed to secure third podium finish. But he failed to attain
desired results for his team.
It will be important to note that the seven-time world champion has retired from the sport and will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton in the next season.
After a disappointing end to this season, the team principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn has said that they are positively looking forward to come up with a competitive car in the coming year so that Hamilton and Rosberg may perform well right from the start.
In addition, he said that they could not achieve their target in this season because their development plan wasn’t good enough. Nevertheless, he expressed that they are not feeling upset and are confidently eying to attain better results in the next year.
Besides, he said that they have full confidence in their 2013 driver line-up and are aiming to compete well with their rivals in the next season.
Furthermore, the 2008 world champion has said that he is eagerly waiting for the coming season and is very excited about the new challenge. Additionally, he said that he will surely help Mercedes in the car development and is aiming to take the Brackley
based team to new heights in the future.
