Mercedez Benz Golf Tour witnesses a birdie brawl
Mercedez Benz Golf Tour was held at the Indonesia’s Emeralda Golf Club, and there was a huge tussle between Nicholas Fung, Juvic Pagunsan and Namchok Tantipakakul. The Malaysian, The Filipino and the Thai spent three rounds in a brawl for birdies and continued
collecting them until Pagunsan attained a 2-shot lead above all.
The three men attained a combined score of 17 but Pagunsan, the Filipino star, held a 2 stroke front after playing the three rounds of the event.
Pagunsan and Tantipakakul played rather identical games and collected a 4-under. The Filipino carded seven birdies while the golfer from Thailand carded a collection of 5 birdies. They both ended up with a score of 68.
However, Fung, in comparison scored a 70 and collected 6 birdies. Fung and Tantipakakul bogeyed twice and once respectively midst the game while the leader bogeyed 3 times. Pagunsan birdies, however, overshadowed his bogeys, handing him a lead of 203 with
a 13 under, thus 2 stroke lead.
Fung and Namchok collected an 11 under par in the hopes of catching up with the leader, and thus, presented a highly absorbing scuffle. Where the crowd was absorbed in the trio tussle, the overnight leader Antonio Lascuna played a 72 in the third round of
the event. Lascuna, was standing at 65 and had a two-shot lead at the start of the third round. After the end of the third round, the golfer was tied at the second place with a 205.
Antonio Lascuna basically faltered after the 14th hole when he double bogeyed at the 15th. This was the golfer’s biggest hiccup of the game where he lost his hold on the lead. Lascuna also carded one birdie at the 17th hole in an attempt to cover the previously
earned bogey.
Artemio Murakami played the competition after carding a 68 and strayed with five shots with a 209. Along with Murakami, Mars Pucay stood back with one shot after carding a 68. Gene Bondoc also joined the rally after collecting a 68 and was hence standing
