Mercruiser---omc cobra marine parts?

I have a cobra setup. can not seen to know, what the connection is. between omc and mercruiser io--drives is ???

  1. OMC stands for outboard marine corp. Johnson and Evinrude outboards . The cobra is like a mercruiser only in its function .The only thing I know of that is used by both is the gimbel bearing and universal joints which needs to be greased every couple of years. The omc is heavier and more expensive .The outboards is now owned by Bombadier.The stearn drive was bought by Volvo.

  3. Your drive is either an OMC or a Mercruiser. It can't be both.

    If it's a Cobra, It's an OMC outdrive.
