Mercruiser tilt trim won't trim up, what is the problem?

The problem I am having is I can't get the lower drive/prop to tilt trim up, I don't get any hydraulic power when I hit my "up tilt" on my control. I do hear power when I hit "down tilt".

The boat is a 1994 Sea Ray BR200. I've also noticed a clear liquid leaking around where the hydraulic reservoir is located, but the reservoir is full.

  1. This sounds like a solenoid problem but it could also be in the switch., first is the drive all the way down?  There is a limit switch that will cut it off.  I'm guessing it is.  now look at the pump.  there are two solenoids, blue and green wires.  use a test light to see is each light up while someone else moves the switchs.   If the up solenoid lights but the motor don't run check the other side, I'll bet it will not light.  replace the solenoid.  Good Luck

  2. Replace the solenoid where the blue wire from the pump motor runs to.

  3. Check all connection> with a volt meter while powering the pump>

  4. The valve is stuck or the solenoid dead

  5. could be the celnoid, give her a tap,
