  1. Mr fixit makes it sound so easy!  He's got all the steps right, but for the alignment, I'd take it to a tech.  If you get it wrong, you can do major damage to the yoke, gimbal bearing, even the transom plate, which are all expensive repairs.  Spend the $125 and have a pro do it.

  2. there are dimensions and drawings at Mercruiser. com, but i would get a pro to do it . a mistake can ruin your drive.

  3. It is easy to mix up the order in which they should be installed,

but I will try and explain them for you.You have a large felt washer and another metal one that looks like a spring. These 2 go between the the engine mount and the transom mount.

You have 4 more pieces. The nut goes on the bottom after you install the bolt. That leaves 3.You have your bolt a washer and a spacer. You install the washer on the bolt first, then the spacer. You then stick this through your motor mount, through the felt &spring washer, then on down through the transom plate into the nut.Once you have done this and tightened them, you can use an alinement bar to aline the engine.I hope

this helps you and good luck.
