Mercurial Brazilian striker Adriano claims he is happy at AS Roma
Roma's summer signing Adriano has gone ahead and slammed allegations stating that he isn’t happy at Roma, who brought the player in on a free transfer this season.
The former Brazilian international has had an illustrious career despite considerable ups and downs along the way.
The player joined Inter Milan in 2001 after playing for Flamego in Brazil. He went on to become a major threat in Europe and became one of the most reputed players in Italy and Brazil, thanks to his performances in the Italian
Serie A and for the national side.
However due to some personal problems, the player moved back to Brazil where he decided to get his act together. After having regained fitness and gotten his mind back in the game, he was recruited by Roma after admitting
that he was ready to play at the top most level of football.
Adriano has so far spent most of his time on the bench at Roma, which led to some media sources stating that the player was unhappy at the club.
Adriano, once made aware of these rumors, went to the press to state that he had no idea what everyone was talking about, since he was just finally starting to feel happy again and this was all thanks to the club that signed
him.
He was reported to have said, "I am not unhappy at Roma like I heard it being said in some places.”
"There are some things that I really don't want to hear about because I am under contract for three years and I am very happy.”
"The lies that have been said in the last few days can put my relationship with the supporters into problems and I don't want that to happen."
The player then went on to mention that the only reason he wasn't playing as much as he would like was due to the fact that he was still not in the best shape to be playing at his best and needed some time to regain his fitness.
Adriano said, "I have improved physically so I think that soon I will be able to play an entire match.”
"When I arrived at Roma, my weight was 104kg and now it's 99.9kg. I have to lose some more weight to be totally in shape."
All the Roma fans are currently hoping that the left footed assassin can regain his prime form as soon as possible, so that they can lay witness to his brilliance on the pitch. Adriano, despite being relatively overweight
when it comes to football players, is unusually quick and has one of the most thunderous left footed strikes in world football. If he were to hit peak form again, then without a doubt he would be viewed as one of the best strikers in Europe.
