  1. Sound like a serious problem if the engine will not let you rev past idle. You may want to call a dealer or shop and find out asap!!! Good luck

  2. Check your oil. My Evinrude beeps when it runs out of oil but will still run at a low rpm in the event that your out and need to get back to shore.

Overtemp is also possible but i doubt it would happen right at startup. Check and make sure there is a stream of water coming out of the engine but dont touch it, it could be hot.

IF its not the oil then there is a serious problem and the boat should be pulled and sent to an outboard repair shop

  3. it's your overtemp warning, it means shut the engine off now before you score a cylinder, or worse.

  4. I think you will need to be careful with this and give it the attention it needs. I have found that ignoring a serious situation can cause problems down the road. I hope you work things out and I hope that my advice was helpful.

  5. This is the guardian warning alarm, and indicates either low oil, or overheating.  Check your oil resevoir and fill if needed, and check the telltail for water flow.  If you have no water flow, you probably need the waterpump rebuilt and impeller replaced.  Impellers should be replaced every 300 hrs, or 4 years.  Good luck

  6. It's over heating> and shutting down>Best get it fixed or you will be replacing the engine>
