Mercury outboard 35Hp, NEED YEAR?

I have an old 35hp mercury outboard that I am trying to find a manufactures date for. I've look all over the interent and can't find the model number listed. The serial # for the motor is A151942. If anyone can help...

I use maxrules.com for model years.  From their charts it appears thar the 35 hp was built from 1963 to 1989.  However the Sr.# that you give is "lower" than the beginning number. Mercury started the 35 with A157??? which is bigger than the number you used.  The 1989 numbers were B904??? etc.  some Canadian motors started with A714??? etc. so I have no idea what your motor is, but if I had to guess I'd think 1963.   It would be a 2 cly outboard with a thru hub exhaust.  If you could post a photo of your motor it might help.  Good luck!
