Meredith Duncan all set for CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012
American Meredith Duncan is more than thrilled after displaying a much better performance at the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, held last Sunday at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio.
Duncan is in the field of the upcoming CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, which means that the American star is going to have another opportunity to prove her mettle on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association)
Tour.
Duncan kicked off the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 in stunning style, as she posted a 66 in the opening round. Fans at Ohio, who did not expect players like Duncan to play so well in a field featuring most
of the big stars, were stunned after seeing the national player get off to a solid start.
Speaking to the media at the end of the first round of Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, the American golfer said that she could not believe when she saw her name atop the leaderboard at the end of the opening
day.
She said that she is very happy with the way things are going, as her game has now become more perfect than ever before. Explaining what helped her remain in contention in the first round, Duncan said that
good putting and her caddie’s advice were on the course with her, making her aware of her mistakes and flaws on each hole.
She said that her putting was perfect on Thursday at Ohio, as this was what kept her spirits high.
“It feels good. I didn't do anything spectacular today, made a couple of long putts. But it was nice to hit solid shots. That's what my caddie talked about. Let's pick a club and hit a solid shot to the
middle of the green,” the LPGA titan said.
She went on to say that she faced some trouble on the putting green, but overall, she played much better and made balanced putts on most of the holes.
“We're not necessarily worried about the total direction of the ball, just at the middle of the green. If it draws a little bit, then the left side of the green, if it cuts a little bit, then the right side
of the green. So it's nice to execute that”.
