  1. How would the plant look like? Have you thought how different  these plants are? I don't think it's possible, at least for the moment.

  2. Botanists call a cross between two or more plants an interspecific, and that’s what pluots and apriums are. Both are part plum and part apricot They are “complex crosses,” which means they are the product of dozens of generations of crossing plums, apricots, and other plum-apricot hybrids to get just the right combination of flavors and textures. Because the two fruits are in the same genus (Prunus, which also includes cherries, peaches, and almonds) it’s easier to cross a plum with an apricot than with, say, a banana.

  3. No it is not possible to mix the genetics by conventional plant breeding.  You can't get an apple that tastes like a banana or anything like that.  What might be possible would be genetic modification by gene splicing or transferring a small segment of banana chromosome into apple chromosome.  This would just change one characteristic of the apple, nothing you could taste or see.

  4. Possibly. I agree with Answerer 1 (Ring of Uranus) but I wonder what it would be called. Banapple? An aplana?

  5. Its possible to genetically modify anything with anything else, but the more you mess ... the more mess you make.

The possibility of it being nothing like you want or were aiming for it to be are increased with every piece of code in its DNA / RNA that is changed.
