Merlins Myth to continue improving and thus striking the April Midi at Henlow on 26th April
Henlow will host the April Midi over 550 metres flat on Thursday, 26th April. The race has attracted Salacres Town, Yer A Diamond, Merlins Myth, Stressmanagement, Darket Pearl and Mullpark Romeo. The prize money set for the race is £150.
Merlins Myth, Top Honcho’s five-year-old black son out of b***h, Dairyland Sue, made a highly impressive entry into the new season, compromised on the performance in the middle a bit but then rolled up the sleeves for getting back to business and tonight
has all the chances of intimidating the line-up.
His first three starts of the new season qualified him for a hat trick. He bagged the seasonal debut on 25th February at Doncaster over 483 metres by completing the trip in 30.38 seconds. Viking Legend settled as the runner up of the race.
Merlins Myth’s second start of the season was in a 480 metres race at Sheffield on 14th March and he got the race credited against his name as a win after racing for 28.92 seconds. He gained control of the final 3 ¼ lengths and had Prestonaintalkin
finishing as the runner up.
Refusing to miss any race and leading on with the unprecedented success, Merlins Myth translated the third outing of the season into a victory. On 21st March, he timed the 500 metres trip at Sheffield in 33.52 seconds. The winner led the runner
up, Driving Champ, by 1 ¾ lengths.
A pair of unfortunate races struck him right after celebrating the hat trick. Not once but twice he finished fifth in a race at Henlow and then in an outing at Sheffield.
He swung back into form on 10th April in the Coors Top Club Final at Sheffield over 480 metres by reaching the other end of the wire in 28.40 seconds. Due Haste wasted no time in joining the winner after taking 28.46 seconds.
The 9/4 joint favourites, Droopys Peaches and Sundance Kid, ended third and fourth.
Merlins Myth once more let go off the tempo by scoring second in the Bedford Road Midi at Henlow on 19th April. Sundance Saffy, the winner of the race took 35.26 seconds to race through the distance.
He has been improving gradually and thus will make the most out of the chance that he will get exposed to today.
