Question:

Merry Christmas! Offensive?

I LOVE Christmas. I will never be someone who says Season Greetings or Happy Holidays. I respect other peoples religious views and they can worship in any way they desire so why should I have to change my beliefs to suit them. Canada has quite a few Christians, more than other religions. If Canadians were to go to another country and expect them to change their holidays and beliefs do you really think those people would do that for us? I think not. So for all Canadians, Merry Christmas!! And for those offended than I am sorry you feel that way but remember, you are in Canada and Canada accepted you so why don't you accept us. We are not the USA! They can change their ideals when ever they want but this shouldn't even be a second thought for Canadians. Why not try and remember the reasons why you left your country and why you wanted to be a part of Canada.Maybe then you will realize we are not that bad!!

  1. merry CHRISTmas!

it's all about God's greatest gift to us, His Son our Savior Jesus Christ!  Believe and trust in the Lord with all your Heart!

this is the true meaning of Christmas

  2. Merry Christmas to you also, from another proud Canadian.

Strawberry BigMac, are you from Winnipeg? You need to calm down and respect others.

Anyhow, Canadians have been celebrating Christmas for quite some time now, Christmas Day is a statutory Holiday, if you find Christmas offensive, don't celebrate it, go to work. Plain and simple. Just because somebody believes in celebrating a very old and much loved holiday and gets upset when immigrants tell us we can't celebrate our holiday because they are offended, does not make that person a bigot. I would never go to Isreal and complain because I'm offended by Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashana or Hanukkah, that would be dis-respectful.

    Merry Christmas everybody

  3. I will say Merry Christmas to the end. & for all I care let Jews say Happy Hanukah with their little cards.. i dont give a flying..........

    Merry Christmas =]

  4. It’s great that you love Christmas. And people who celebrate other holidays love them just as much.  I honestly don't see why people are offended by the idea of wishing everyone a good holiday, and not just the people who celebrate the same holiday as you. Do you really think Jesus is somehow offended that you hope someone else has a good Hanukah? It's just common curtsey, and has been neglected too long, because we're so used to Christianity being the dominant religion in Canada and the US. Perhaps if we understood that acknowledging other religions takes nothing away from our own, this wouldn't be such a touchy subject...

  5. Merry Christmas! If they don't celebrate, that's not our problem! So MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you and your family have a great one!

  6. Amen!  Merry Christmas ....

  7. merry christmas to you also

  10. You said it girl!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, from a fellow Canadian!

  11. it can be just be careful who you say it too!but you could say it to me any tme!!!merry CHRISTmas

  12. Merry Christmas!!!!!  I agree.

  13. Merry  Christmas and a Happy New Year

  14. Merry Christmas! I'm an Anglican and I celebrate Christmas.  I love the fact that we have such a mulitcultural country. I simply don't provide a seasonal greeting. If someone says it to me I will respond. By looking at someone you can't tell what their religion is or if they have one at all. We should celebrate the holidays within our cultures but at the same time be tolerant.

  15. I'm Canadian born, white as Wonder Bread and don't celebrate Xmas, so pls2be taking your *a$s*umptions and shove it.

If you don't like multiculturalism, why dont YOU leave?

  16. I'm not in canada, but Merry Christmas to you anyway! I still like to say and I like to hear it! SO again, Merry Christmas! and a happy new year, while you're at it!

  17. yes i agree whole heatedly

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

  18. Yes, I agree. It's not as big an issue here in Canada as it seems to be in the U.S. but there are still some who want to take away OUR holiday greeting.

People get way too offended about this greeting when in fact they should understand that any other time of the year we would be saying "have a good day". It's the same thing but since it's Christmas time we say Merry Christmas.

    Merry Christmas to all

  19. You can say whatever you want, but try to remember that there are more religions out there than Christianity and it is nice to include everyone.  Also, when people say Happy Holidays, they could also be including Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years.  Trying to convince people that Christianity is under attack because a bunch of businesses are trying to be inclusive and not exclusionary is just ludicrous.

  20. I live in the U.S.A.  Merry Christmas to you, too.

  21. its ok to say merry christmas
