Arsenal’s defender and German international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680 has admitted that he is quite happy to see his Arsenal team mates having a good run in at the Euro 2012.
The defender kicked things off by talking about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
He also went on to save a special praise for Walcott and his goal, as he feels the attacker is finally showing just what he is capable off.
"I'm very pleased for Theo [Walcott] and Alex [Oxlade-Chamberlain]. They were both in and out of the team, but then Theo scored and it was a special moment - it always is when you have to wait for your chance and then play like that," he told reporters.
He then went on to talk about Podolski, as he feels the German international is turning into a brilliant player and that he can take his form from the Euros, into the new season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, as he looks to help the team move forward from the very first
day.
Mertesacker then went on to add: "Lukas [Podolski] showed that he can be a good defensive player but also a good goalscorer - and with his right foot too.”
However, he admitted that he would like to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 get some time on the ball, as he feels the defender is not being given the chances that he deserves.
"I'm very happy to see a lot of the players doing well, but I would like to see Laurent play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 too," he added. "I think we are in the same situation - not playing at the moment and having to be ready for our chance."
It seems like almost all of Arsenal’s players who are at the Euros are doing well and this can only be good news for the Gunners.
Nonetheless, they now need to avoid getting injured, so they can bring in their new found experience back with them to the club and help the team push on and try to win a trophy or two this season.
