http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680 has admitted that the Gunners are looking far sharper than they were last season.
The North London club have gone on to sign a number of new players, including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505.
All three of those players are signs of what is to come for the team in the near future and considering the fact that the team are finally showing ambition, they could just go on and end their trophy drought.
When talking about just how he feels about the team and the coming season, the centre back is reported to have said:
"I think we have a better situation than last year. The team is full of characters, good players and every position [has competition]. So I am looking forward to the season because I think we can show the potential we have in a better way than last year.”
"We need good signings and I feel that these players will help us a lot. Giroud is a good striker and I have seen a lot of him in training because he was not out in Asia, so we trained a lot together. He made a good effort and hopefully in the games he will show that as well.”
“Santi Cazorla has just signed so we will see him in training and in games in the short term.”
The defender also went on to claim that he was bound to improve on his personal form for the coming season, given the fact that he had a number of injury problems last time around.
Mertesacker has finally started to gel together with the team and should he maintain his form and progress with the club, he could secure a first team spot for the coming season.
Nonetheless, it isn’t very hard to agree with the defender in terms of the fact that the Gunners are looking to be stronger than they have been in recent years.
Should they manage to capitalize on their signings, this coming season could finally prove to be the season that Arsenal fans have long been waiting for.
