  1. because it is the way you or who has it setup. I have all my groups setup like that and for good reason..you can edit  a post before you add it to the group. Some people can add a viurs in there post and it is a good idea to read what kind of post it is..now if you don't do this you will lose members as they will wonder why there post has not been posted. now if you don't want to have to do that is approve of them..then reset your group from pending to normal. i have all members on pending when they want to join and all the group posting as well..

  2. you'd probably still want to moderate new invited members posts (always safer) and to undermoderate members, it is not an over all group setting, you have to do this per member

left tabs on homepage click management- under group settings click messages- next page Posting and Archives (Edit) <-- click the edit- 3rd column Moderation check either new members OR Unmoderated - click save changes-

    REMEMBER

this will only affect those who join after this setting change. members now prior to this remain on the previous setting that you had, lets say no moderation.

    ALSO

these members stay moderated until you individually reset each one and here's how (this is also how you'd moderate a member who needs it)

locate said member is members list- click edit membership below their ID- Posting Messages: Override: This member's posts are always moderated (Edit) <-- click the edit

    next page choose either

    * Messages posted by this member are not moderated.

    * Messages posted by this member are moderated.

    click save changes

  3. well its showing pending because you have set the group like that when ever any body ( group members) send mail to ur group.. u need to moderate that... and ultimatly u confirm thatand then pass on to group member..

advantage of this is u .. can delete or resend unwanted messages.. also u can edit the messege and put ur ads of ur group etc.. also u can format messges in to styles ..

    all possible for that...

well if u set it back that messege need no moderation and approval ..then all messeges will go directly to users..

i still prefer the best is to moderate the user messeges to prevent spam., ad and other unsolicated mails..

    thats it

  4. it'll be a membership setting that's applied to all members

you can change the membership settings by going into 'management' (in the box on the left hand side underneath promote/invite), then go into 'group settings' / posting options' - under 'moderation' you can select 'unmoderated', 'moderated' or 'new members' (which means new members will be moderated, but you can then change it manually later)
