  1. Symptom:

When opening a page within Internet Explorer a dialog box is displayed titled ‘Error’ displaying the message:

    A Runtime Error has occurred.

    Do you wish to Debug?

    Line: NN

    Error: Object expected

    What the error means:

Internet Explorer is displaying this message because it has encountered this error when trying to run some JavaScript on the page.

    Possible Causes and Remedies:

The problem may be related not with the site but with the contents of Internet Explorer’s cache...

  2. You should be able to turn off these messages (it's usually just bad coding on the web developers part, and you don't need to see the error) ... to turn it off, try going to ...

    1. In IE

    2. Tools->Internet Options

    3. Click the advanced tab

    4. Check both "Disable script debugging"

Hopefully you'll never see that again.

  3. Yes - its probably a program (or part of a program) thats trying to run while you're on the internet, and is not being successful. So the computer is trying to 'repair/ debug' the program. You can try clicking 'yes' and debugging it, and if it doesn't work - you might want to remove and reinstall the program.

If you have windows, press control+alt+del keys and see which programs are running. It should be one of those programs that is causing the problem.

You can of course uninstall them via Control Panel>Add/ Remove Programs

The problem might also be caused by a particular webpage as the first answer mentions. In that case of course, try emptying the cache files by clicking on the 'Tools' button on internet explorer, and select 'delete browsing history'. If the problem still comes up, you might want to ignore the particular webpage! :) Or try a different browser like Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

      Hope it helps!
