Messaging on Myspace?

Does Myspace alert you when you get a new message or do you have to check your inbox?

every time you refresh you home page and you have a new message in your inbox it will show you under updates.

It will alert you. You can go on "My Account" on Myspace too and click on notifications and do it there too.

It says "New message(s)!" in red above your inbox

yes, it will say "new messages" in the updates box just like it would for new comments, picture comments, friend invites, or new friends.
