Messed up display of battery life

Hi,I just recently bought the Truly FT602 MP3 Player. Eveything seems fine with the player except for the display of the battery life. It does not seem to be detecting and keeping correct track of how much more life is in the battery. It constantly flops around, changing from one bar to three bars within seconds.What is wrong with it?
