Barcelona faced Deportivo over the weekend and managed to win the game 4-5 while being away from home and Messi believes that the match official was not up to the mark as he even gave Mascherano a red card.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 was the highlight of the game once again as the Argentinean star was able to score a hat-trick in order to give his side the all-important three points from a tricky fixture away to Deportivo.
La Blaugrana were all set for the game after the international break and while many think that it is difficult to win games after international duty, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 made sure that they win in order to stay at the top of La Liga.
During the first twenty minutes of the game, Barcelona were leading by three goals to nil.
Later, a few referee decisions led to a change in the game as Deportivo started to dominate, won a penalty and scored to make the score-line 3-1.
The Spanish giants then conceded in another goal and the score-line became 3-2 and that is when the pressure started to build for the Catalan giants.
Javier Mascherano was given a second yellow after he made a reckless tackle and Lionel Messi believes that the penalty awarded to Deportivo and the second yellow awarded to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 was not at all the right call.
The Argentinean star spoke against the match official and said:
“There was no penalty there, nor should Mascherano have been sent off. The referee saw otherwise and what happened, happened.”
However, being as humble as he always is, the Argentine said that such decisions do not matter and what matters is that the team keeps on winning in order to remain at the top.
“We won. It’s always difficult after international matches, because you get tired. This was important.”
“The important thing is that we keep winning, maintaining the level from before the international break. It is not easy after so much travel with the national team and to have played in both matches.”
After winning the game against Deportivo over the weekend, Barcelona will now turn their focus to the UEFA Champions League where they will take on the challenge of Celtic.
