The Argentinean maestro was able to give out an extraordinary performance in the second half of the Champions League tie against Moscow, as he completed a brace and helped Barcelona win the game 3-2.
Barcelona faced Spartak Moscow in the opening game of the UEFA Champions League, on Wednesday.
The Catalan giants were favourite to win the game against Unai Emery’s side, but Moscow were able to surprise La Blaugrana, taking the lead right before the hour mark.

When the Argentinean star was asked about the game against Moscow, he said:
“They are very fast and strong and come out well on the counter-attack.”
“It was a very tough game and they got everyone behind the ball so there was no space, but I’m satisfied because we kept on probing and managed to reverse the situation.”
Messi has been scoring a lot of goals for La Blaugrana, and there are many who predict that he will be beating his own goal-scoring record which he managed to put up last season.
However, the Argentinean maestro stated that he is not concerned with breaking records; in fact, he wants the team to win games.
While talking about beating his own record, Messi said:
“It is not my objective to overcome records. What we want is to try and win this competition and this is the way to do it.”
