The forward was full of appreciation for the Golden Boot winner; as he went on to mention his incredible accolades in the world of football.
Kanoute insisted that he has never come across a player who is remotely similar to the Barca number 10. The Malian claimed that the Rosario native is simply impressive on the pitch and can turn any game on its head with his outstanding abilities on the ball.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player exclaimed that ‘La Pulga’ is far above his competitors and no other footballer in the modern game can reach his level at the moment.

The striker then went on to heap praise over Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona, stating that the Catalan giants under Guardiola were the greatest team of all time.
"In a few years’ time, when I look back and think that I competed against Guardiola’s Barcelona, I’ll realise how lucky I was to have played against the best team Barca ever had,” he was quoted as saying by reporters.
The end of the current season saw Kanoute’s seven-year contract with Sevilla reaching its conclusion. It will be interesting to see where the 34-year-old goes next.
