The Argentine wizard has insisted that he is unaware of the duration which he will spend on the sidelines due to his latest injury.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Lionel Messi has expressed that he cannot confirm when he is likely to return to action for his team. The forward emphasized that even though the injury is not substantial, there are still some doubts and that he is unable to put a timestamp
on it.
The Barca number 10 suffered a knock during midweek as the Catalans locked horns with Benfica in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
It was an unsatisfactory night for the Copa del Rey champions as they were contained by their opponents in resolute manner. The match that took place at the Nou Camp finished with a final score of 0-0.
However, the disappointing stalemate was not the only concern faced by the Azulgrana faithful as they also saw their star player being stretchered off the field after enduring a knock on his knee.
The Argentine international had to be carried off of the field as he was clearly unable to continue playing for Tito Vilanova’s men.
The injury did cause quite a scare at the Catalan capital, however, reports later revealed that it was a minor injury and Messi will return to action sooner rather than later.
Nevertheless, the left-footed attacker has revealed that he has absolutely no idea about when he will be fit again.
"The truth is that I didn't really think about anything because I was in so much pain but I feared the worst. I thought that I might have to leave the ground. I feared the worst when the doctors looked at it and examined me but, once they said it wasn't
serious, I felt a lot more relaxed,” quoted the prolific striker.
"When you go out onto any pitch there is always the risk something can happen to you," he remarked. "[Pep] Guardiola used to play me in these games and as long as I can play and Tito allows me to play in these games, I will continue to do so."
Reports suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 will only be sidelined for one match and will return for Barcelona against Real Betis.
