The Argentinean maestro picked up a knee injury during the game against Benfica and after managing to recover in a while, he thanked the fans for their love and support.
Lionel Messi gave all the Nou Camp fans a scare during the game against Benfica, as the Argentinean fell down to the floor holding his left knee.
The Argentinean star was close to equalizing Gerd Muller’s all-time goal scoring record in a single calendar year, but a knock taken by him on the left knee did not allow him to continue and that is the reason why he was stretchered off the field.
There were no news surrounding http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296’s injury and the match ended in a goalless draw, with no one knowing what the Argentinean star had experienced.
However, he was well observed by the Barcelona club doctors and they assured him that it was only a knock that he picked up during the game and he will be back in action soon.
Messi recently gave out an interview in which he stated how all the loved ones tried to call him and reach to him, but he apologized for not picking up or responding to their calls as he believes everything was moving fast.
The Argentinean star was happy to see how the fans reacted and publicly thanked them all. Moreover, he also apologized for going out of contact, as he was quite busy with his injury problems.
“I feel good, luckily it was not a bad injury, I feel much better than I did yesterday.”
“I do not know if I will play on Sunday, it depends on the evolution of the knock. The best thing is that it was nothing more than that, a knock.”
“I want to take this opportunity to say thanks for all the messages and calls I received. I did not answer because everything moved quickly and so today I want to thank you.”
“I did not feel or hear anything when I got injured. My knee, the blow, what could have been. I am very grateful for all the signs of affection from the fans, from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. I knew this already, but to experience this love makes me very happy.”
Barcelona will be facing Real Betis over the weekend and Messi is expected to perform against the Spanish club.
