Barcelona played Santos in the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup. European Champions were able to triumph over the Brazilian stars.
The best three players in the tournament were: Lionel Messi, Neymar and Xavi Hernandez; in order. Messi topped Neymar and Xavi Hernandez during the international competition.
Brazilian ace, Neymar, has been heavily linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. Real Madrid are also eyeing the young and talented striker. However, after their win over Santos, Barcelona have managed to leave a mark over Neymar. The Brazilian kid would want to play for
a team which has already beaten his side.
Regarding the speculation about Neymar signing for Barcelona, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 recently claimed that he would welcome the Brazilian striker at the club. The Argentinean was quoted as saying:
"If Neymar comes to Barcelona, he would be welcome.”
Barcelona have recently lost a striker like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639 is only going to benefit them.
Currently, Barcelona are relying on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara, Pedro Rodriguez and the young Cuenca also add up attacking options for Josep Guardiola.
Despite such a talented bench, there is no doubt that Barcelona are only going to improve. An attacking option like Neymar alongside Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez would only mean that they can score more goals.
Moreover, buying Neymar in January will only benefit the Spanish Champions. Josep Guardiola will be able to field Neymar in the UEFA Champions League since he is not registered with any other European club.
Regarding this issue, Barcelona’s president Sandro Rosell has already stated that he has left the decision up to Josep Guardiola. While talking about the chance to sign Neymar, Rosell said:
"Do I want to sign Neymar? That decision is up to the coach. I'm only the president."
There is no doubt that a player with a high skill level like Neymar deserves to play in Europe. However, whether Barcelona is the right option for the young Brazilian star? That is a question only time can answer.
