Metal Mulisha’s “Black Friday” to hit iTunes this Thursday
After a hiatus of over four years, Metal Mulisha is all set to release their latest full-length freestyle motocross (FMX) feature “Black Friday” on January 6.
The film will feature FMX stunts performed by the Metal Mulisha crew as they travel to various spots around the world.
“It was something I wanted to get back to,” said Brian Deegan, the co-founder of Metal Mulisha and X Games 17 Rally X Gold Medallist. “Freestyle motocross started on videos before it was ever a sport, and those first videos defined the sport. I feel like that's kind of the roots of freestyle, and now that Mulisha is growing and growing, just blowing up, we just said, 'Let's do a video. Let's go show people who we are again, let 'em know we're still the Mulisha, we're still keeping it core, and we're still defining FMX and moving the sport forward.”
The film is directed by Jay Schweitzer and stars Deegan, along with numerous other team-mates, which includes the youngest member of the Metal Mulisha team and X Games 17 Moto X Best Trick Gold Medallist Jackson “Jacko” Strong, Rob Adelberg, Nixey Danielson, Wes Agee, Ronnie Faisst, Nick Dunne, Julian Dusseau, Josh Grant, Taka Higashino, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Derek Garland, Larry Linkogle, Jimmy Hill, Cam Sinclair and Todd Potter.
“Black Friday” will also contain never-seen-before footage of Jeff “Ox” Kargola, a Metal Mulisha crew member who died in May last year, and unseen footage of another fallen Mulisha member Jeremy Lusk who died in 2009.
The 31-year-old Deegan admitted that he does not have the hard to watch the parts featuring the fallen riders in the film as they remind him of how much has been lost in the recent years.
The FMX star conceded that he wants everyone to give the feature film a watch and give their feedback to let the team know how they can make the next film even better. According to him, Metal Mulisha has reached a position where they can commit themselves to filming.
“Black Friday” will become available for download from iTunes on its release date of January 6. A week after its release, it will be available on DVD.
