Question:

Metal polishing?

I've been crafting bo shurikens lately. I got stuck when I realised the metal wasn't as polished/shiny when I was done making them. What's a good way to shine these things up? (also, if you have any advice on how to make shurikens, I'de be very thankful if you could share it. I know this question doesn't really belong in the martial arts category. But I asked this question before in the hobby category and nobody answered. Thank you for your time.)

  1. I have herd of using a clear lacquer for shining purposes of you could just paint them black if that is what you are into spray paint works also check if it is legal in your state to own them it is illegal here

  2. You have to coat them with something that will prevent oxidation and or corrosion.  You need to look up the type of metal you're using and then you should find out what you can do to coat them with to prevent it.  You should also be wearing gloves when you're polishing them because the oils on your hands will stain the untreated metals.  It could end up being too much money for the projects and won't be worth it in the end.  You can buy some at the local sporting goods store or "ninja" catalog for cheap anyway.

I know it's not much, but it will guide you down the metallergy path.
