i got my braces off yesterday and today i got a plastic retainer with a wire that pushes agaisnt my teeth. it slurs my speach and its ugly to see the wire when i talk. my tounge feels cramed in agaist the upper and lower retainers. i got home and i found that there is a clear plastic retainer that fits to your teeth and i was wondering if those would be better. should a stay with the retainer i have now or look into geting a clear plastic reatiner? and are all orthodists able to give you these?

  1. i have plastic retainers, and they didn't hold my teeth at all because they stretched out. I might even need braces again, which im really mad about. Anyway, i would stick with metal ones if i were you. Hope i helped :)

  2. I have the clear fitted ones. And I'm looking into getting the metal one. Because I have only had my braces of fsince february and my retainer is already cracked. The metal ones are wayyy more durable. DOn't get the fitted ones.

  3. i haven't gotten my braces off yet but i think you should keep your retainer.
