Metamucil again!?

Okay, the first question has been answered any resolved. Now, I discovered the Metamucil is in the drain from the dishwasher that goes into my disposal. I want to take off the black hose that connects to the disposal. It has metal clamps that I can just loosen. But, is there plumbers putty under it, or will I be able to just re-attach it with the clamp when I am done cleaning out the hose and disposal drain hole?

  1. I'm no plumber but you ther should'nt be anything under it.  Especially if it is a clip.

  2. You are right.  Just loosen the clamp and remove the hose.  Be prepared to have to pull and twist the hose a bit.  The fitting usually is either barbed (looks like rings on the pipe with an edge that holds the hose in place) or has the end flared sightly to help hold the hose in place.  When you are done just put the clamp on the hose, push the hose firmly onto the connection.  Slide the clamp back into pace and tighten securely.  Good Luck
