  1. Its the perseids. July 25 to august 18. The peak is on aug 11 or 12.

  2. Here is a useful chart.

    The second listed site can be used for real time prediction.

    Good luck!

  3. The answer to this varies according to what list you refer to.  The most comprehensive that I have seen is that published by the British Meteor Society in the form of their radiant catalogue.  This would indicate that there is at least one "shower" active on almost every night of the year!

    More realistically though, meteor showers do happen at various times of the year;  such as the quadrantids in January, Lyrids in April, Perseids in August, Orionids in October, Leonids in November and Geminids in December.

    Each shower is associated with a comet, and it is the debris left behind by that comet that causes the meteor shower.  All members of a shower will appear to come from a particular point in the sky (the radiant point) and the shower is named after the constellation within whose boundary the radiant lies.

    Meteor showers will be active for a period of a few days and duting this time activity will increase to a peak before falling off again.  The Perseids are one of the best observed showers for northern observers with peak rates of between 60-80 an hour.

  4. There are two main meteor showers to be seen every year.  There are the Leonid's in the early Spring, and Perseid's in the late Summer.

    Some years see a maxima of meteors, when they appear up to as many as 10 to 20 per minute, and some years it's a minima, where you can wait all night and only see a handful.

    As a general rule though, you can reasonably expect to see two main showers per year.

  5. There are tons of them all the time.  You can look up all of them here;

  6. I don't know ask ET.

    P.S.- you should try stating where you live. That would help a little [=

  7. The Perseids are coming up...peaking on August 12.  All meteor showers occur at the same time every year...though their activity levels and seeing conditions can vary.
