I need help on the wind direction section. I know how to draw the maps, but on section E, (question number 5) it says "Compare the following conditions on either side of the cold front: wind direction." My teacher wants the answer as, "before the cold front came, the wind direction was THIS, and then after the cold front came, the wind direction was THAT." i don't understand it. please help?

Also, on Map C, question 1, it says "where is the greatest change in wind direction in the eastern part of the country?" I don't understand that either.

So hopefully, you meteorologist, or school teachers could help a student? :)

  1. Before a cold front, winds will be arriving from the SE or SW. After a cold front passage, winds will shift to the NW or W. By the way, wind direction is where the winds are coming from. I'm sure you know that already.

For the question relating to Map C, look for areas where the wind barbs change direction the most, maybe a and 90 or 180 degree angle.

In case you need to know more, go to the link. I hope my answer helped you out.
